Quick update for you all. We've successfully piloted AMIDEAST's own online English placement test. It's an adaptive test that covers listening, vocabulary and grammar and usually only takes 20-30 minutes to complete. Ideally, it is administered in an AMIDEAST computer lab. The Tunisia country office was the first to adopt the test and is now running it daily for all of its English language classes. Since students need to create an account on the LMS to take the test, it also becomes feasible to extent the LMS for keeping attendance and grades online. Stay tuned as we continue to roll out new features.
Another update on AOEPT. Besides Tunisia, Cairo, Alexandria, and Kuwait will be using the test soon. Piloting is underway at all three locations with launches expected within the next week or two. Jordan has already gone through the launch preparations and is pending. Lebanon is scheduled to start the piloting process later in March. All in all, AOEPT is on its way to becoming AMIDEAST's standard for placement testing thanks to the fine efforts of EL and CSR staffs at these locations!
