Discussion Forms
A critical key to your learning throughout this course will be your participation in online dialogue. For each module, you will be asked to contribute to one interactive forum. For each module, you must do three things:
- Answer the question(s) or prompt given.
- Respond to at least two of your classmates’ postings (see below about "what makes a good response").
- Read and reflect on as many postings as possible to facilitate your learning.
Even though you are required to respond to at least two posts, we suggest that you read all the posts and reply to as many as possible. The more you communicate here, the more you will learn.
What makes a good response
Read carefully what your classmates have written. If you can, connect their thoughts to yours (maybe you feel the same way, sometimes). Make sure to post more than "I disagree" or "For sure!" If you like/dislike something someone said, explain why you like/dislike what they said. Consider these forums an ongoing conversation where we can all exchange ideas.

As you reflect on the sentence review and 5-paragraph essay, share the following points with your classmates:
- List three things you learned in this module.
- What do you still need to know about the 5-paragraph essay?
Share your topic and thesis with your classmates. Why did you choose this topic for your 5-paragraph essay?
We covered a lot of ground in Module 3. Choose a topic summarize from this module (i.e. claim-evidence-reasoning, transitions, or citations). Write 3-6 sentences explaining what you now know about this topic. Don't forget to reply to two of your classmates!
Please answer both of these questions:
- What might your key learning outcome be in taking this class?
- What do you still want to know more about?
