    By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    1. Business Communication & People Skills

      • Describe people and initiate conversations in professional and networking contexts.

      • Keep conversations going and navigate appropriate small talk at conferences or meetings.

      • Handle telephone calls professionally, including taking and leaving voicemail messages.

      • Check, clarify, and confirm facts and figures in business conversations.

      • Express opinions about business travel and make polite requests and enquiries.

      • Greet visitors and manage travel-related scenarios with fluency and politeness.

    2. Listening

      • Understand dialogues from business travel programs, conferences, meetings, and airport settings.

      • Comprehend voicemail messages, planning conversations, and briefings.

      • Distinguish British and American English in short exchanges.

      • Identify effective versus problematic communication through listening practice.

    3. Reading

      • Read and analyze blogs and articles about conferences, business travel, and listening strategies.

      • Understand profiles and comparisons of international companies.

      • Interpret professional reading texts and travel tips from global publications.

    4. Speaking

      • Participate in role-plays to practice networking, telephone handling, and greeting visitors.

      • Use conversation strategies to query information and clarify misunderstandings.

      • Share preferences about work-related travel and communicate requests using polite forms.

    5. Vocabulary and Phrases

      • Use vocabulary related to networking, telephone communication, meetings, and travel.

      • Understand and apply business phrasal verbs in context.

      • Use functional phrases for telephoning, business travel, and checking understanding.

    6. Grammar

      • Use Present Simple and Present Continuous to describe current and routine actions.

      • Apply the Past Simple with time expressions for past events.

      • Use comparatives and superlatives to describe and compare companies or services.

      • Formulate polite questions to make requests and clarify information effectively.

    AMIDEAST Policies:

    1. Students are expected to come to class on time.

    2. Mobile phones should be put on silent mode.

    3. No food or drink is allowed in AMIDEAST classrooms & labs.

    4. Break time is 10 minutes for two-hour classes, 15 minutes for three-hour classes.

    5. Make-up quizzes must be scheduled individually with the teachers.

    6. Passing grade is 70%.

    7. Students are encouraged to cooperate with each other and show respect and courtesy towards the teacher & other participants.
