Technical Support
Hardware
You need a desktop or laptop/notebook computer with a sound card. You will also need speakers with a microphone or a headset (headphones). Most computers sold within the last five years or advertised as "multimedia" have these.
Software
Your operating system will need to be a Windows XP, Vista, or 7; Linux; or Apple OS. Most modern browers, including Internet Explorer, Mozilla's Firefox, Google's Chrome, and Apple's Safari, will work. Use the browser checker below to see if yours is compatible. You should also have MS Word or Open Office, Adobe Flash Player and Java VM. Since the iPad does not support Adobe Flash or Java, it will not work for this course.
Browser Checker
It is useful to know how up-to-date your web browser is. The University of California offers a a comprehensive tool for running a quick "web browser check up". Click on the checker below. A separate window will open up and you will receive a list of your browser's features and what plug ins are installed. The first four items are the most important ones for the AMIDEAST Online LMS.
