    Why take the GRE? 

    The GRE General Test features question types that closely reflect the kind of thinking you'll do in graduate and professional school, including business and law and the GRE General Test is accepted at thousands of graduate schools, including business and law, as well as departments and divisions within these schools.

    This 36-hour course is designed to provide you with guidance, practice and strategies for taking the GRE.

    The course is divided into two parts:

    Qualitative or English verbal skills - 18 hours

    The GRE Verbal consists of two parts:

    • Verbal Reasoning — Measures the ability to analyze and draw conclusions from discourse, reason from incomplete data, understand multiple levels of meaning, such as literal, figurative and author’s intent, summarize text, distinguish major from minor points, understand the meanings of words, sentences and entire texts, and understand relationships among words and among concepts. There is an emphasis on complex verbal reasoning skills.
    • Analytical Writing — Measures critical thinking and analytical writing skills, including the ability to articulate and support complex ideas with relevant reasons and examples, and examine claims and accompanying evidence. There is an emphasis on analytical writing skills.

    Quantitative or Math skills - 18 hours

    • Quantitative Reasoning — Measures the ability to understand, interpret and analyze quantitative information, solve problems using mathematical models, and apply the basic concepts of arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis. There is an emphasis on quantitative reasoning skills.

    AMIDEAST Policies:

    • All handouts, documents, presentations are the Intellectual Property Rights of AMIDEAST and the class instructors.  These materials are for your own personal use and should not be shared or reproduced on any public platform.
    • Break time is 10 minutes for two-hour classes, 15 minutes for three-hour classes.
    • Students are encouraged to cooperate with each other and show respect and courtesy towards the teacher and other participants.

    AMIDEAST Classroom Policies:

    • Students are expected to come to class on time.
    • Mobile phones should be put on silent mode.
    • No food is allowed in AMIDEAST classrooms and labs.

    AMIDEAST Virtual Classroom Policies:

    • Students should log onto the virtual classroom at least 15 minutes before class to take care of any connection issues.
    • Students should join the class with camera, microphone and audio capabilities.
    • Students should keep their microphones muted, unless they want to make a comment or ask a question.
