Enrolment options

This course builds upon previously learned linguistic skills in order to place Arabic in cultural context. We will cover social, environmental, and institutional issues related to the Middle east region and the world in general. Over the course of the semester, we will engage with authentic materials and respectful discourse to have a better understanding of the great diversity that exists in the Arab world. Classes are student-centered, allowing for lively debates and thought-provoking classroom activities designed to expand awareness of cultural features and phenomena, social movements, and new innovations. Evaluation will be based on both achievement of syllabus materials and success in out of the classroom tasks, with a concentration on independent linguistic dexterity. This course covers selected Authentic and Customized material that meets the needs of the students
