This course follows Arabic 102 and builds with specificity on the critical foundation built in the beginning year of language study. It challenges learners to activate increasing amounts of vocabulary while enabling them to use grammatical structures and syntactical cues to enhance their growing vocabulary on their own. The task-based class environment supports the curricular emphasis on Arabic sentence structures and verb forms to develop learners’ accuracy in comprehension and production. Learners gain confidence and hone their spontaneity in real-life formal and informal communicative situations. This course covers the material in Al-Kitaab, Part Two, Third Edition, Chapters 2-7, as well as local materials and materials developed by instructors.
