Course Description

Welcome to English for Tourism! This course features authentic and up-to date information in every lesson. Participants will be exposed to clear and straightforward language structure, with each unit containing a menu of learning outcomes, and an end-of-unit checklist with 'Can do' tick boxes. English will be presented in context, so participants can practice the language and skills they need for their job.  There are industry facts, figures, quotations, and terminology included at the top of various textbook pages.

Course Objectives

In this class, participants will not only examine speaking, listening, writing, and reading activities, they will also look closely at industry specific grammar, language, and pronunciation. Under the guise of patient care and starting with some basic language skills (i.e. present perfect, simply past, and passive voice), participants will explore ways to ask questions, give instructions, explain procedures, and make suggestions.
