This bilingual French/English course will take a multidisciplinary look at gender within the context of Muslim majority countries with a particular focus on Morocco. The overall objective is to introduce students to contemporary scholarship on women’s issues, feminist activism in both a secular and Islamic context, and the nature of women’s engagement with power in the Islamic world.
