    Learning Outcomes:

    By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

    1. discuss the idea of living and working away from home with its pros & cons.
    2. read for main ideas, details & make predictions.
    3. use compound nouns correctly.
    4. use common social expressions in life-like situations with intonation, stress and rhythm.
    5. exchange information about people living abroad and what they miss about home.
    6.  Practice writing a resume & a cover letter.
    7. express opinions regarding world travel from historical explorers to modern-day  tourism.
    8. use the hot verbs “make” &” do”; how they are commonly used in expressions and with particles to form phrasal verbs.
    9.  use exclamation in everyday language, and with what & how.
    10. listen for main ideas & details.
    11. use & practice correcting techniques.
    12. talk about stories in the theme of narration with a variety of past tenses.
    13. talk specifically about types of book & movies using its language.
    14. use adverbs in narrative.
    15. use ways of showing interest and surprise in everyday life using echo questions and reply questions.

    AMIDEAST Policy

    • Participants are expected to come to class on time
    • Mobile phones should be put on silent mode.
    • No food or drink is allowed in AMIDEAST classrooms & labs.
    • Break time is 15 minutes.
    • No make-up quizzes are to be held. Absence due to an emergency situation is to be handled by the instructor on an individual basis. Trainees are to provide documentation for the emergency situation.
    • Passing grade is 70%.
    • Course evaluations are done on the 5th session. 
    • Participants are encouraged to cooperate with each other and show respect and courtesy towards the instructor & other participants.
