Young Elementary 4 (CEFR A1)
Course Description
This 42-hour final course of the Young Elementary program gets students ready for our Young Learner program. It develops their English language skills at a CEFR: A1 level. Through amazing photography, authentic stories and videos, students will explore topics such as town, farm, clothes, food, vacation and free time.
Course Objectives
Following a communicative approach, students will develop understanding of core language and basic grammar structure, and balanced skills foundation. At the end of this course, students will be able to speak, draw and write about:
- their clothes / towns or cities
- favorite food / farm animals
- what they can do at the beach
- activities they can do today

Student Assessment
You will be evaluated in a variety of ways throughout the course and receive feedback from the teacher to help you continue to improve your English language skills. Student assessment is based on the following criteria, on a scale of 100%. The passing grade is 75%.

Attendance Policy
Students cannot miss more than 8 hours (20%) of class time in order to pass the course. Late arrivals are counted towards the 8-hour limit. Students who are absent for two consecutive classes will receive a phone call from the EL Director to check on reasons for absences.
Class Rules
