Workshop Overview
Description
The Online Teaching Workshop (OTW), designed for both novice and experienced face-to-face teachers who are shifting to online teaching, gives participant’s strategies for creating and delivering effective online sessions. Through participation in this workshop, participants will develop skills for creating and delivering engaging and effective lessons.
Workshop Goal
The main goal of the workshop is to have participants apply online teaching strategies, techniques, and tools to create lessons that fulfill learning objectives and effectively engage learners.

Workshop Time Commitment
The workshop runs for 5 consecutive working days. In order to complete the workshop, participants are expected to spend 2 hours attending each synchronous session and 1 hour daily to complete each asynchronous assignment. The total number of expected hours is 15.
Assignments & Expectations
The workshop is fast-paced and the training received is contingent on each preceding session. The content of each lesson builds on the content in the previous session. Participants are expected to complete the asynchronous assignments after each synchronous session.
Activities used for instruction and assessment of learning include: synchronous live sessions, asynchronous videos and readings, oral and written tasks, discussion boards, and quizzes. At the end of the workshop, participants will submit a completed online teaching lesson plan and online delivery outline, and deliver a short lesson demonstration for feedback.
Assessment & Certification
Participants will receive a Complete / Incomplete final assessment. Participants who complete all required activities / tasks within the time frame of the course will receive a certificate.

To be successful in this online workshop, participants should:
- Attend all synchronous sessions
- Complete assignments on time
- Participate in discussions and activities
Technical Requirements & Support
AMIDEAST Online classes require a desktop, laptop or mobile device combined with a WIFI or minimum 3G network connection. Recommended browsers include:
- Desktop/Laptop: Chrome, Firefox, or Edge (latest versions)
- Mobile iOS (12.2+): Safari Mobile
- Mobile Android (6.0+): Chrome Mobile
For ongoing support, a WhatsApp group will be created to promote open lines of communication.
For other problems or questions, participants will post on the AMIDEAST Online discussion forum, which the trainer will monitor daily and answer questions.
