Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Discuss the idea of living and working away from home with its pros & cons.
- Read for main ideas, details & make predictions.
- Use compound nouns correctly.
- Use common social expressions in life-like situations with intonation, stress and rhythm.
- Exchange information about people living abroad and what they miss about home.
- Practice writing a resume & a cover letter.
- Express opinions regarding world travel from historical explorers to modern-day tourism.
- Use the hot verbs “make” &” do”; how they are commonly used in expressions and with particles to form phrasal verbs.
- Use exclamation in everyday language, and with what & how.
- listen for main ideas & details.
- Use & practice correcting techniques.
- Talk about stories in the theme of narration with a variety of past tenses.
- Talk specifically about types of book & movies using its language.
- Use adverbs in narrative.
- Use ways of showing interest and surprise in everyday life using echo questions and reply questions.
Student Assessment
You will be evaluated in a variety of ways throughout the course and receive feedback from the teacher to help you continue to improve your English language skills. Student assessment is based on the following criteria, on a scale of 100%. The passing grade is 70%.
AMIDEAST Policies
- Course duration: 30 hours
- Session duration 2.5 hours
- No of sessions: 12 sessions
- Participants are expected to join the online session on time.
- Break time is 15 minutes.
- Make-up quizzes are to be held only once and due to an emergency situation
- Passing grade is 70%
- Participants need to provide AMIDEAST with a valid e-mail address. This will enable them to check their attendance & grades and do online evaluation of instruction on AMIDEAST Learning Management System during the course. They will also get their final grade by checking the LMS.
- Participants are encouraged to cooperate with each other and show respect and courtesy towards the instructor & other participants
