    Course Description

    The 120-hour program aims at building the participants’ skills and capacities related to professional environments. It includes different modules covering personal and professional skills like communications, interpersonal skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork, and “techno-vation,” where participants learn business-related technology skills.  Skills for Success provides youth with increased personal awareness, improved English language proficiency, workplace skills valued by employers, job search strategies and resources, and a community-impact experience. The Skills for Success Employability Training Program consists of several phases delivered in five modules: 

    Module 1: Personal Competencies (30 hours)

    Module 2: Career Path (30 hours)

    Module 3: Employability Skills (30 hours)

    Module 4: Techno-vation (30 hours)  

    Learning Outcomes

    This course will 

    Enhance the participants’ business-related English language skills. 

    Introduce participants to new soft skills required during professional interactions. 

    Participants practice the new soft and professional skills introduced in the modules. 

    Participants develop their own Career Plan. 

    In groups, participants develop their own business plans.

    Student Assessment 

    After each module, participants will be asked to submit one final assignment. In order for a participant to successfully receive a certificate of training, s/he must submit all five assignments.

    Attendance Policy

    • Arrive to class on time.
    • Attend at least %70 of the course.
    • Be prepared to participate in class activities
    • Bring the class textbook and notebook to every class session.
    • Be sure your mobile phone is on silent and out of sight.
    • Do not bring food or drinks into class
    • Complete all home assignments before class. (This helps ensure that you progress more quickly!)
